Petty: Completed in 1992, this original painting is titled, "Richard
Petty – Reflections: A Generation Remembered". Acrylic
on canvas, this framed piece is 24" x 28". It features
the King of Racing, Richard Petty, classic black feathered hat pulled
low on his head. Petty’s famous shades reflect visions of
the number “43” cars of his generation: the Pontiac,
Grand Prix of his1992 final season; his 1972 Plymouth Road Runner;
and the revolutionary 1970 Plymouth Superbird, with its controversial
skyscraper rear wing. Checkered flag (like its sister painting “Reflections”)
is in the background. Great attention to detail has gone into this
realistic portrait from the feathers on his hat to the sponsor decals
on the car |
